Curt Smith

Curt Smith is Vice President of Community Development for HomeFed, responsible for development operations at the company’s villages in Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch, consisting of approximately 2,000 acres approved for more than 13,000 homes. Mr. Smith, who joined the firm in 2014, has been involved in construction, master planning and community development for more than 35 years, including 21 years with the Eastlake Development Company in California and Colorado. He was instrumental in the development of the 3,230-acre Eastlake community in Chula Vista, overseeing the construction of Eastlake Greens, including the 18-hole golf course and clubhouse. Later, as Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for the build-out of the community. In 2006 Mr. Smith joined JPB Development to manage development operations in Otay Ranch and for two years managed a hard rock mining and aggregate production facility that was affiliated with JPB. Upon sale of the mine, he returned to JPB as Vice President and Director of Operations for Land Development.
